Mixer Description
Introduction to our Mixers
In high-demand industrial mixing applications, precision and uniformity are essential.
When engineered carefully, our mixers deliver consistent performance through cutting-edge design, enabling optimal mixing efficiency, reduced processing time, and high throughput.
Engineered for applications requiring precise blending control, these systems are tailored to maximize productivity while ensuring minimal environmental impact.
Key Features and Benefits:
- Twin-Shaft Batch Mixing for Fast, Repeatable Homogeneity:
Two counter-rotating shafts drive the charge into an overlapping zone at the centre of the trough, where material is briefly weightless. In that fluidised zone, differences in particle size, density and shape stop driving segregation — so a batch of urea, DAP, MAP and potash reaches a coefficient of variation below 5% in a fraction of the time a ribbon or plough mixer needs.
- Adjustable Fill Factor and Shaft Speed:
Homogeneity depends on the batch actually circulating, so fill factor and shaft speed are set to the material rather than fixed. The fluidised zone forms properly between roughly 40% and 60% of gross trough volume: below that the charge slides instead of lifting, above it there is nowhere for material to move. Paddle angle is adjustable on the shaft, letting you run aggressively on dry raw meal and gently on finished granules.
- Gentle Handling That Protects Granule Integrity:
The paddles move material by displacement rather than shear, so granules survive the mix. That matters after the mixer as much as in it — broken granules become fines, and fines segregate in the bag, raise dust in the packing hall, and narrow the spread width in the field.
Smart Design Details That Pay Off
- Full-Length Discharge Doors for Clean Changeovers:
Bomb-bay doors run the length of the trough base and empty a batch in seconds, leaving very little behind. Low carryover is what makes multi-grade production practical — it is the difference between running one NPK formulation and running six without cross-contaminating them.
- Built for Abrasive, Corrosive Fertilizers:
Contact surfaces are stainless steel or abrasion-resistant plate, with bolt-on hardfaced paddle tips treated as consumables and changed within a shift. Shaft ends use air-purged seals held at positive pressure against the trough, so material cannot work along the shaft into the bearings — the failure that takes most fertilizer mixers out of service.

Ceylan Machine & Process manufactures machinery for large-scale fertilizer production, and we’ve been doing so for over 20 years. Having completed projects in Turkey and Europe, we’re continuing to expand our services internationally. You can trust that we are able to deliver individual pieces of machinery for fertilizer production as well as entire production systems for plants.
If you want high-quality mixers with a 1-year guarantee on the machinery, as well as a guaranteed capacity/production tonnage, fill out a form to get started today.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when a mixer is incorrectly sized?
An undersized mixer typically requires longer mixing times and increased energy consumption to achieve proper blending. Oversized mixers can lead to material segregation and inefficient mixing. You need the correct mixer size to avoid these problems.
Can one mixer handle multiple products without sacrificing quality?
Yes. If it’s designed for it from the start. Multi-product industrial mixers use configurable mixing elements, variable speeds, and adjustable settings. The key is not the mixer itself but how flexible the internals and control system are. Proper cleaning and setup ensure mixing multiple products efficiently without cross‑contamination.
How is mixing quality actually measured?
By sampling the discharged batch and calculating the coefficient of variation across those samples. Ten or more samples are drawn from different points in the batch, each is analysed for one nutrient or for an added tracer, and the standard deviation is expressed as a percentage of the mean. Below 5% is generally accepted as homogeneous for fertilizer blends, and below 3% is achievable on free-flowing granular material. A visual check proves nothing — a blend that looks even in the trough can still segregate in the bag.
